Learn how to make a Cheddar & Bacon Muffin in a Mug, another one of my Mug Meal recipes where you can make real food fast!

Course: Breakfast
Cuisine: American
Servings: 1
Author: Gemma Stafford
Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • teaspoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon (1/4 oz/ 9g) butter, cubed
  • tablespoons milk (or buttermilk)
  • 1 tablespoon bacon
  • 1 tablespoon cheese
Instructions
  1. In a microwavable mug, mix together the flour, baking powder, onion powder and salt
  2. Using your fork, incorporate the cubed butter into the dry ingredients. When done it will resemble fine breadcrumbs.
  3. Stir in the milk, bacon and cheese until your mix forms a batter
  4. Microwave for roughly 45 seconds - 1 minute (this timing is based on my 1200W microwave so yours might vary)
  5. Enjoy warm!
Recipe Notes

Cooking time will vary greatly depending on your microwave and the width and depth of the mug. The mugs I use are small, roughly 6oz (¾ /1 cup)

Always keep a close eye on your mug while in the microwave so it doesn’t over flow or over cook.

Add in all the milk. It will make a wet batter but the wetter it is the softer your muffin.
