My Apple Honey Cobbler recipe has the warm taste of tart apples and sweet honey with just a little hint of cinnamon — it's a perfect fall treat!

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Servings: 8 people
Author: Gemma Stafford
Ingredients
For the filling
  • 4 large (about 30oz/850g) granny smith apples
  • cup (4oz/115g) honey
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Cobbler Topping
  • 1 cup (5oz/142g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (8oz/225g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (4oz/115g) butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and butter an 8x8-inch (20x20cm) baking dish.

  2. Peel, core, and chop the apples and add them to a medium bowl.

  3. To the apples, add the honey, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt, mix well and pour into the baking dish.

  4. In another medium bowl, make the topping: combine the flour, sugar, and salt.

  5. Rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs, and then stir in the beaten egg.

  6. Spoon the topping over the apples (some gaps are ok) and bake for about 45-55 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

  7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Apple cobbler is best the day it is made but you can store covered leftovers in the refrigerator for up to one day. Reheat in a 250°F (120°C) oven before serving.
