My Peanut Butter Buttercream Frosting recipe pairs perfectly with chocolate cake and only takes about 10 minutes to make!

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Servings: 3 cups
Author: Gemma Stafford
Ingredients
  • 1 cup (8oz/225g) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup (8oz/225g) creamy peanut butter (at room temperature)
  • 3 cups (12oz/340g) powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment (or with a medium bowl and a handheld electric mixer), whisk the butter and peanut butter on medium-high speed until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. Switch the mixer speed to low and gradually add the powdered sugar a bit at a time until incorporated.

  3. Add in the milk, vanilla extract, and salt and whisk on medium speed for 1 minute until combined.

  4. Use immediately or keep at cool room temperature for up to one day. For longer storage, refrigerate until ready to use. Let come back up to room temperature before using for the best-spreading consistency.
