French Toast in a mug

  • 5 tablespoons white bread , buttered and cubed
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon of chocolate chunks
  1. In a microwave safe mug, mix together the egg, milk and syrup until combined
  2. Add the bread to the mug and press it down so they are submerged within the liquid
  3. Add the chocolate chips to the mug and give a little stir to incorporate them in the mixture. Let it stand for 5 minutes for the bread to soak up the custard.
  4. Microwave for roughly 1-1½ minutes. I suggest checking it after 1 minute and go from there. The timing is based on my 1200W microwave so yours might vary.
  5. Serve with whipped cream on top and enjoy warm
