Easy Chocolate Cracknell Recipe

Our Easy Chocolate Cracknell Recipe is no-bake, takes 10 minutes to prep with only 5 ingredients. It's a quick cure for a chocolate craving!

Ingredients
  • 5 cups (7 oz/200 g) cornflakes cereal
  • cup (7½ oz/213 g) golden syrup
  • ½ cup (4 oz/115 g) butter
  • cup (1 ⅓ oz/37 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. Line an 8-inch (20 cm) square cake pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Place the cornflakes in a large bowl.
  3. In a small saucepan, warm the golden syrup, butter, cocoa powder and salt over medium-low heat until the butter is melted and the syrup is smooth.

  4. Pour the syrup over the cornflakes and stir until evenly coated.
  5. Pour evenly into your prepared cake pan and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, until set and firm.
  6. Cut into 16 squares and keep in the refrigerator in an airtight container until ready to serve. Store in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Recipe Notes
  • Keep refrigerated: These treats need to stay refrigerated, or they can get soft.

  • Golden syrup substitute: If you don’t have golden syrup, make my homemade version, or you can use honey instead.

  • Fun variation: Try making these with Rice Krispies instead!

  • Easy serving: Place these in paper-lined individual muffin cups to set for easy serving.

  • Quick set: If you are in a hurry, you can let these set in the freezer for about one hour.
