Hi Bold Bakers!
Let’s do things a little bit different this year, since 2020 was absolutely bananas. Instead of just highlighting my best baking recipes of 2020, I’m highlighting recipes from some of my closest baker friends — friends you definitely have heard of — to see what they made this year that won their hearts. Don’t worry, though, I do have my own choice on this list, too.
As 2021 gets started, I feel like it’s more important than ever to find even a little bit of joy through baking. I hope you find a lot of it, but even the smallest amount will mean I’ve done my job of helping you bake anytime, anywhere, and put a positive note into your life. From desserts to bread, I (and these friends of mine), are here for you and whatever it is you might need to get baking.
So, what were our best baking recipes of 2020? Let’s find out.
Brandi Milloy: Homemade Sprinkles!
Brandi Milloy is a TV Host, Food & Lifestyle Expert — and her best recipe of 2020 is her Homemade Sprinkles (the recipe is in her IGTV video — just follow along)! If you’d love to see more from her, follow her @brandimilloy on all socials, and check out her site, BrandiMilloy.com!
Tessa Arias: Brown Butter Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies!
If you’re looking for a great cookie, then look no further than this recipe from Chef and cookbook author Tessa Arias! Her Brown Butter Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies are her 2020 baking recipe of the year — and for good reason. Just look at them. Make sure you follow her @handletheheat on socials everywhere!
Hetal Vasavada: Lemon Cardamom Snickerdoodles!
Not only are Cookbook Author and Blogger Hetal Vasavada’s Lemon Cardamom Snickerdoodles gorgeous, but they are also eggless. And that’s even before the incredible flavors hit you! It’s no wonder she chose these cookies as her Best Baking Recipe of 2020. Follow her @milkandcardamom on socials everywhere for more incredible treats like these.
Zoë François: Pavlova
I’ll be honest here: I’m a huge sucker for a gorgeous pavlova — with the crispy exterior and marshmallow-y insides. It’s no wonder pastry chef, author, and TV host Zoë François chose her Pavlova recipe as her best in 2020! Make sure you check out her new cake book that will feature this pavlova in a chocolate version. Zoë also has her Artisan Bread in 5 website and book as well!
You can follow her on social media everywhere at @zoebakes!
Catherine McCord: Skillet Double Chocolate Chip Cookie
Our third (and final) cookie on this list is a bit different — and by different, I mean massive, gooey, and baked in a cast-iron pan! Founder of Weelicious and One Potato, Catherine McCord has brought you her Skillet Double Chocolate Chip Cookie as her choice for the list of Best Baking Recipes of 2020! Make sure you check out Weelicious.com for more recipes and follow Catherine @weelicious on socials everywhere.
Brian Hart Hoffman: Blueberry Basque Loaf
Elevated is the name of the game here, from the Editor-in-chief of Bake from Scratch, Brian Hart Hoffman! Instead of making his Blueberry Basque Loaf round, like it classically is, he has adapted it to a loaf pan and added gorgeous blueberries, too. Follow him on social media @thebakefeed and @brianharthoffman for more delicious treats, and check out BakeFromScratch.com for more recipes!
Dalia Soubra: Fudgy Chocolate Tahini Cake
What would 2020 be without a delicious chocolate cake? Well, this isn’t just any chocolate cake. This a Fudgy Chocolate Tahini Cake (watch the IGTV video for the recipe!) from Chef & Author Dalia Dogmoch Soubra. It’s impressive, loaded with chocolate, and with a twist that makes this a must-try cake. Follow Dalia on socials @daliaskitchen and check out DaliasKitchen.com for more recipes!
Gemma Stafford: Pear & Dark Chocolate Crisp
If you follow me on social media, then you’ve seen my Pear & Dark Chocolate Crisp before — because I absolutely cannot, and will not, stop talking about it. I’m not even a huge fan of pears in my desserts, and yet the pears in this recipe are absolutely perfect with the crunchy chocolate topping. I fell in love with it immediately, and you will too!
And, of course, you can follow me on social media @BiggerBolderBaking — sign up for my newsletter for the latest recipes and baking tips, and buy my first cookbook, too!
I hope you try all of the recipes on the Best Baking Recipes of 2020 list! They’re all worth it.
Thanks a million to all the creators above!
