Hi Bold Bakers!
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year 🎼🎼🎼 “, and by that, I mean the Holiday season!!! This is when we start to plan our Holiday menus, build our shopping lists, and make our cookie doughs to have them ready in time for gifting. Being such a busy time I enlisted a few of my very talented baker friends to share with you some of their most popular Holiday cookies… and I’ve created the definitive list of The Top 7 Holiday Cookie Recipes!
Oh, but before we get into it, if you’re looking for the best Classic Christmas Cookies, check out my list here. And if you’re wondering how to freeze your cookie dough so you can have easy access to cookies all season long, check out my guide here!
1. Homemade Gingerbread Men
Who can resist these adorable little guys during the Holidays? My Homemade Gingerbread Men are not only great to eat but can be used as Christmas decorations, edible Christmas gifts, and you can even use the dough to make my Gingerbread House Log Cabin. Check out my recipe for Homemade Gingerbread Men and you’ll be good to go with these quintessential Holiday Cookies!
2. Vanilla Bean Sugar Cookies
It wouldn’t be the Holiday season if you didn’t have a batch of sugar cookies in the oven. The tiny flecks of vanilla bean make this cookie so beautiful to look at, and these cookies are loaded with flavor because she doubled down on the vanilla with a whole vanilla bean and vanilla extract. These Vanilla Bean Sugar Cookies are soft, delicious, and will bring a smile to your face.

5. Soft and Chewy Molasses Cookies
These Soft and Chewy Molasses Cookies are an absolute favorite here with the Bigger Bolder Baking team. Brian, our Head of Publishing, often makes them as a surprise for friends throughout the year — not even around the holidays! I love them because they’re filled with warm spices, molasses, and a whole lot of chew.
6. Meringue Shell Cookies (Rakushki)
Originally from Eastern Europe, Natasha is keeping it traditional this Christmas with her Meringue Shell Cookies. They have a crisp ribbon of meringue and a soft crumbly center. Rakushki is the Russian word for “shells” and they look like little shells with a treasure inside – the walnuts! These meringue cookies are lightly sweet and made perfect with a dusting of powdered sugar which makes them look and taste irresistible. Don’t pass up Meringue Shell Cookies (Rakushki) this December.

7. Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
Santa better loosen that black belt because we are taking Christmas cookies to another level! And these are no ordinary chocolate cookies, but more brownie-like with a soft, fudgy center, crunchy exterior, and a healthy amount of sweet powdered sugar crinkling on the outside! Bookmark my Chocolate Crinkle Cookies and have a jolly Christmas!
