Hi Bold Bakers!

Each year by the time the holidays roll around I’ve had my fair share of holiday parties, events, and get togethers. While oftentimes we think entertaining needs big, over-the-top, complex desserts, the truth is all you really need to make is one very special sweet bite. Instead of making the same old truffles and cookies, how about giving my Christmas Cookie Balls a try! These 3 different no-bake cookie balls are jam-packed with holiday flavor.

Whether you fancy a Classic Rum Ball, a rich Peanut Butter Snowball or a Chocolate and Hazelnut Ball, I have plenty for you to try!

What are Christmas Cookie Balls Made of?

All three of these recipes use cookie crumbs.

From Rum Balls made with vanilla wafer crumbs, to Peanut Butter Snowballs using graham cracker crumbs, to Chocolate Hazelnut Balls (a version of Oreo Cookie Balls) each No-Bake Christmas Cookie Ball is jam packed with flavor and texture thanks to the crushed cookies. Each ball is then held together with either nut butter, maple syrup, or butter, and then is rolled to perfection with a sweet coating. The finished Christmas Cookie Balls are a sweet handheld dessert.

I really can’t pick a favorite flavor, either, as each is so different! I guess you’ll just have to try them all!

How big should the cookie balls be?

I like to scoop the balls using a tablespoon measure, leveled. This ensures the balls are uniform in size, never too big or too small, and just the right bite-size treat. The size and nature of these Christmas Cookie Balls make them great for serving big parties, and of course, for giving as a gift!

How do you roll in powdered sugar/cocoa powder?

Each ball is rolled in a special complimentary ingredient. From powdered sugar, to cocoa powder, to ground nuts, the technique is the same.

First I like to chill each cookie ball mixture until it’s nice, firm, and easy to scoop. After scooping, I roll the Christmas Cookie Balls in their sweet coating in a large bowl. The only trick to this process is giving yourself plenty of room to ensure you can generously coat each ball.

Repeated my baking of the peanut butter snowballs and chocolate rum balls and added the chocolate hazelnut balls and the sugar cookie truffles all for our family Chrisukkah dinner! All were a huge hit. For the sugar cookie truffles, I dipped them in milk chocolate rather than white chocolate as that’s what I had and they were awesome!

I made the chocolate rum balls and peanut butter balls last weekend and they were a huge hit! I did make one tweak- I rolled the chocolate rum balls in crushed up rice krispy cereal rather than chopped pecans (mostly bc I read the recipe wrong and added all the chopped pecans to the balls rather than saving some out to roll them in later. The rice krispies totally worked though. Sorry no pics. Forgot to take them. I will absolutely be making these for Christmas with my family!
