Top 5 Homemade Milkshake Flavors

Save Recipe

Hi Bold Bakers!

I know you all love to bake hot, delicious treats just as much as I do. But as we start heading into the summer months here in California I’m absolutely loving my no-bake desserts and frozen treats right now! There’s just something so satisfying about a cool and refreshing frozen treat on a hot summer’s day. You all loved my 2 Ingredient Ice Cream made without an ice cream machine recipes and my Homemade Frappuccinos, so I know you’ll love my Top 5 Milkshake Flavors I created especially for this season!

In my opinion, milkshakes are never given enough credit. They are the ideal dessert; rich ice cream, creamy milk and your favorite toppings all blended up and served in minutes! While this is one of the simplest things to make, there is no reason for milkshake flavors to lack complexity, which is why I created these 5 super creative flavors!

I love the idea of taking all of my favorite deserts and transforming them into something new. These milkshakes are the perfect canvas for my art. I’ve taken treats that we love like a dreamy Hot Chocolate, luscious Cherry Pie, a rich Banana Pudding, creamy Strawberries & Cream and even a warm and toasty Frozen S’more and make them into BOLD and delicious milkshakes. I can’t wait for you to try them to see which are your favorite recipes!

    • Gemma Stafford on May 18, 2018 at 11:36 pm

      Hi Wendy,

I’m really glad you like this recipe. My blender is a kitchenAid torrent blender but any household blender will work just fine.

      Best,
      Gemma.

Hi Gemma! Can i make a milkshake with hand blender?

    • Gemma Stafford on August 1, 2017 at 2:38 am

You certainly may, depending on the blender, and the ingredients too. If you mean a stick blender then a steel one will work best.
      Gemma 🙂

I’ve been watching your vids ( that’s the reason for all the comments ?) and I found out it’s been a year since your website started! Congrats! When is the EXACT date? And what’s the date of you starting your vids? I can put it on my calendar. ?

    • Gemma Stafford on June 11, 2017 at 2:39 am

      Hi Joanna,
We started our videos three years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alN49vl4j8E – this rainbow cake was our first episode.
I am happy that you are with us, we post every Thursday at 8.30am PDT – (California).
Your questions did make me smile!
I will need to ask Kevin about the music, I forget to ask him, and he is sleeping right now!
I speak a little French, some Irish, and a touch of Spanish. English is the language I grew up with, alongside Irish, though I did not really speak this outside of school, sadly!
The equipment I use is generally what I suggest for a particular recipe. For some you can use a mixer, with a strong paddle attachment, in place of a processor, but in othere this will be a challenge.
The same applies to a blender, it will bind the motor if the ingredients are too strong/tough/thick. You could make cookie butters with a stand mixer, with the paddle, but you will need to break down the cookies first, use a rolling pin to bash them in a plastic bag, very satisfying too!
Making things at home will ensure that you use good quality ingredients, and you will know what you are eating. Following a recipe faithfully is important too, any change will change the result.
Thank you for your kind comments, stay tuned. New bread recipe today, and for the next few Sundays too 🙂
      Gemma

          Hi,

That all comes down to the cream you use. It’s different all around the world. That’s all it is 🙂

          Gemma.

  12. Amelia on May 25, 2017 at 1:53 pm

What brand is that blender? It looks very interesting? Thanks!

    • Gemma Stafford on May 26, 2017 at 1:38 am

      Hi Amelia,
This is a KitchenAid Torrents blender (http://tinyurl.com/yawyc66s) if you follow this link it will give you the details.
This is an expensive appliance, but it is powerful, and will last a lifetime. I believe in buying once, buying well!
Cusinart also do a nice blender, and is a good brand too. I need things to last, and to work, hard, every day!
      Gemma 🙂
