Hi Bold Bakers!

I’m back with 5 BRAND NEW MUG MEALS that are even better than my Original Mug Meal Recipes! I was so delighted with you how much you enjoyed the last Mug Meals video that I created all-new recipes that will cover you for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and of course dessert.

I loved seeing all the emails and comments from you after the last video, and I realized my Microwave Mug Meals are such a hit because they suit so many lifestyles. Whether you are cooking for one, have a small kitchen (or no kitchen), or you want to control your portions, these will all work great for you.  They take just a few minutes to make, even less time to cook, and you get a perfect single-serving portion. They’re great when you need something simple but still homemade. And they can be made up the day before for even more convenience.

Microwave Mug Meals are so much more than just heating up a few ingredients in a mug. They are real meals made with good ingredients that will fuel you throughout your day. They are much better than fast food so I like to think of them as REAL FOOD…FAST!

I have assembled a well-balanced collection of sweet and savory recipes from Breakfast to Dessert with enough variety that will keep your tastebuds happy and satisfied.

I love your recipes and how to cook it, but my question is i don’t hear clearly how many watt do you set in microwave each recipe was cook ? 300 or 450, and how long we can cook ? like scramble egg, must 1 mnt or every 30 sec we stop and do it again in 30 sec, thank you

    • Gemma Stafford on October 27, 2016 at 1:42 am

      Hi there,
I tend to cook everything at the same full power setting, and watch it, this is easy with microwaves.
Microwaves cook in a particular way, vibrating the water and fat molecules to generate heat. The way the food is distributed in the bowl or cup also matters, and the material of the bowl or cup matters too! So, use a microwave friendly cup/mug, cook for 50 secs, check it, if it is firm to the touch it is done, the heat will finish distributing outside the oven to finish the cooking.
Scrambled eggs are a particular difficulty for some people as they can over cook in seconds, so, add a little milk to the mix, then depending on the number of eggs cook for 30 secs, stir, cook for 10 secs, stir, if it is looking creamy it is done, so stand it for 30 secs it will continue to cook.
      Gemma 🙂

  5. Sally on July 25, 2016 at 3:36 pm

Love your website and your videos Gemma. I’ve tried a number of your mug recipes now and they all overflow. Worked out tat I have a 1400watt microwave rather than the 1200watt you use. Could you please explain how I could adjust the recipes? Do I reduce the power (80%?) or time? I’m desperate to make the chocolate pudding but I get a volcano every time!

    • Gemma Stafford on July 26, 2016 at 8:04 am

      Hi Sally,
Firstly, you can use this cream cheese for a baked cheesecake, or any other cream cheese application.
Secondly, you will be best to adjust your microwave settings. Use a wide mouthed mug/cup, about 6 – 8 oz capacity. Microwaves cook by vibrating the fat and moisture in the food, generating heat in the process. This heat is then transmitted through the food to cook it. So, to stop your volcano problem, run at 80%, for 40 secs, open the door, and change the position of the cup a fraction, return and run for 10 secs, and 10 secs until cooked. give that a try!
      Gemma 🙂

I try the chocolate pudding and add it cream cheese instead of cream and it give a fresh and nice balance to the chocolate, plus a couple of little white chocolate cereal balls it was great!

  9. asma on June 18, 2016 at 10:56 am

    hi Gemma ,
Will the mug meals also come out nice if I make them in the oven as I don’t have a microwave?
Thanks for these lovely and convenient meals , they are very creative !

    • Gemma Stafford on June 18, 2016 at 11:30 am

      Hi Asme,
Most of these will work in the main oven, though if were baking in the main oven I would not necessarily choose these. They are developed for the short cooking time of the microwave, and for single serving. It is way more expensive to cook in the main oven, but you would bake these for 20 mins or so at 180 degrees, depending on the recipe. Check out the other recipes here on the website. If you batch bake you can freeze some of the production, and save for later!
      Gemma 🙂
