Hi Bold Bakers!

WHAT YOU GET: In this article, you’ll get 10 recipes that are perfect to make with or for your kids this summer that they are sure to love!

Summer is a great time to bake with kids. It’s a fun and delicious way to keep them occupied over the summer when school’s out. I have compiled a list of my top 10 big and bold desserts that are perfect to make with or for your kids and that they are sure to love.

Honestly — if you need to keep your kids entertained, I could think of worse ways to do it… ways that don’t end in delicious treats for the whole family!

Crazy Cookie Dough

My Crazy Cookie Dough isn’t just a delicious treat for your little ones, it’s a fun activity for them too! The beauty of this cookie dough is that you can make the dough and add any mix-ins you want to different cookies so every cookie in the batch can be unique. I have a bunch of flavor ideas like chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, birthday cake, s’mores, and more, but feel free to encourage your kids to come up with their own cookie combinations.

2-Ingredient Ice Cream

Top-down view of 6 difference homemade ice cream flavors

This 2-Ingredient Ice Cream is as easy as it is delicious. It’s super quick to make and doesn’t require an ice cream maker so anyone can make it. I have so many amazing flavors on my website that kids are bound to love such as Neopolitan, birthday cake, cookies and cream, and tons more!

Best-Ever Brownies

I’ve never met a kid that doesn’t like brownies and these brownies are the best around! There’s a reason why they’re called my Best-Ever Brownies. They’re rich, chocolatey, gooey, chewy, and insanely good. I’m sure any kid will approve of these.

Popsicles

Popsicles are a super easy and great way to cool off on hot days. I have so many fantastic popsicle recipes on my website but here are some of my all-time favorites. From crazy delicious Banana Split Popsicles to kid-favorite Strawberry Milk Popsicles, these refreshing treats are a new spin on the classic popsicle that will definitely bring a smile to any child’s face.

No-Bake Rice Krispies Treats

You’ve gotta love a good Rice Krispies Treat and these are great ones! I’ve created some big and bold flavors such as Snicker’s, Funfetti, and S’mores that you and your kids are going to love. These treats are super easy and quick to make and are no-bake so there is no oven required.

Snow Cones

What kid doesn’t like Snow Cones? They’re fun to make, fun to eat, and brightly colored. The ones you get at stores are packed with chemicals and sugar, but mine are made with real fruit and only a little extra sugar for sweetness. These are much better for your kids, and taste delicious too.

Animal Crackers

Animal Crackers are a staple for young kids. The shapes are fun, they taste great, and they’re an easy snack to pack on the go. These taste just like the classic crackers from the store but better. You can even get your little ones involved in making these cookies for a fun activity.

Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bars

Who didn’t grow up on these Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bars? They were always one of the best things to get from the ice cream truck as a kid. The smooth, creamy ice cream filling with the flavorful cookie coating, what could be better for a kid on a hot summer day? Now you won’t have to wait for the ice cream truck to have these delicious treats!

Crazy Cupcakes

My crazy recipe series is a huge hit here at Bigger Bolder Baking! One of my favorites is the Crazy Cupcake recipe. Just like our Crazy Cookie Dough, there is a delicious basic cupcake batter recipe that can be customized to any flavor your heart desires with different mix-ins and can be topped with any frosting flavor with my Crazy Frosting. Some flavors I have on my website are chocolate peanut butter, cookies and cream, red velvet, and more.

George’s Banana Split

As you can see, my son George loves this Banana Split and your kids will too. This Banana Split is big and bold because almost everything in it is homemade! No, I didn’t grow the banana but all the ice cream, chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, and whipped cream are homemade. Your kids are sure to love this delicious treat.
