Kids Baking Activities with FREE Downloadable Worksheets

When the kids are at home, there's no better way to have a fun, educational, and DELICIOUS time than to get in the kitchen for some kids baking!

Hi Bold Bakers!

Having the kids at home should make time spent together lovelier, and it does, but I know that it can also add a little stress when you mix in work, education, and just generally trying to keep them busy with or without screen time. As a new parent, I definitely want to create more kids-related content, and combining that with my years as a professional chef seems like a natural way to do just that.

Let’s relieve some of that stress with a fun way to get the whole family into the kitchen, learn some new skills, and make some delicious food through kids baking! It’s proven that baking with kids helps develop motor skills, math, science, as well as problem-solving, imagination, teamwork, and improvisation. A skill that is fun AND helps you learn? That’s a win-win for parents and kids.

I’ve come up with a worksheet of sorts — but it shouldn’t feel like work, so let’s call it a “bakesheet” — that has one simple recipe for each day of the week. I challenge you and your kids to complete as much of it as you can. I understand there may be ingredient constraints, but I tried to take that into consideration while choosing these recipes. There’s no better way to create food memories and POSITIVE feelings about this time at home than kids baking.

As you go, submit images of your final products on this page and let me know how you get on in the comments and on social media with the hashtag #BakeLifeBolder. I’ll make sure to highlight your hard work for all to see!

Here are the links to the first week’s recipes:

MONDAY

Let’s kick this week off with something small but mighty: my 1 Minute Microwave Mug Cake! Anyone can dig into these single-serving cakes made right in the microwave.

TUESDAY

Muffins are great to have on hand to grab for some energy or just a little sweet treat. Best-Ever Bakery Style Double Chocolate Muffins are definitely the way to go, because who doesn’t love chocolate?

WEDNESDAY

Feeling a little… French? Make the pancake’s fancier cousin: Crepes! HINT: Fancier doesn’t mean harder.

THURSDAY

Crazy times call for crazy ideas — make my Crazy Cookie Dough and turn that one simple cookie dough into any flavor you want (or have)!

FRIDAY

Do you have cookies? Crush them up and add them to your Homemade Ice Cream with 2 Ingredients. Anything you have on-hand that sounds good in ice cream can work!

SATURDAY

You need dinner, so you might as well make it from scratch, and make it FUN! 15-Minute Pizza Dough (No-Yeast) is fast, simple, and best of all: PIZZA.

SUNDAY

Can you think of a better way to spend Sunday morning than making Perfect Buttermilk Pancakes for breakfast?

Here are the links to the second week’s recipes:

MONDAY

If you have Bananas on the verge of going bad, don’t toss them! Make my Best-Ever Banana Bread and get the most out of them.

TUESDAY

Everyone needs a snack, right? Instead of opening a pack of something processed, quickly make Homemade Potato Chips however you’d like!

WEDNESDAY

Just three ingredients, but oh so good! Make my 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies.

THURSDAY

Even if you could make it to the store to feed your Pop-Tart craving, you still won’t find this flavor! Make my Ham & Cheese Pop-Tarts.

FRIDAY

Everyone loves Nutella, right? In just minutes you can make my 3 Ingredient Nutella Mug Cake.

SATURDAY

Sweet treats are nice, but frozen sweet treats can be better! Even if it’s cold where you are, make my Strawberry Banana Frozen Yogurt and treat yourself.

SUNDAY

I love dessert, it’s no secret — but I absolutely love breakfast, too. Wake up and my Best-Ever French Toast Recipe.

Monday

Get your week off on the right foot in the Best-Ever way possible with my Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies! I promise you, there’s a magic reason why they’re the best, so you’ll want to make these for sure.

Tuesday

One of my most popular recipes is popular for a reason: it uses few ingredients, tastes great, and can easily be frozen to eat later! That’s right, if you’re looking for something to go with your meal, make my 3-Ingredient Flatbread and you won’t be disappointed.

Wednesday

This one is a bonafide hit on YouTube! In less than a week, more than 100,000 people watched my Best-Ever Mug Cake video — and the response has been amazing. It’s simple, yummy, and only uses a fraction of ingredients a full cake would use. Make my Best-Ever Mug Cake! The video is on the page if you want to check it out.

Thursday

If it’s starting to warm up where you are, you’ll love making my Frozen Yogurt Bark. Come to think of it, even if it’s still a little chilly, you can still make these as a sweet treat — nobody is gonna stop you!

Friday

One of our team members swears that family pizza night is Thursday night — but I think it should be Friday! Well, to be honest, I think any night should be pizza night. Make my Pizza Scones and enjoy!

Saturday

Have you ever had Fried Ice Cream? It’s amazing — so I wanted to figure out a way to recreate it without frying it. That process led me to my No Fry Fried Ice Cream, which you need to make to believe!

Sunday

You made it through the whole week! Great work, now it’s time to make my No-Yeast Cinnamon Rolls! Yes, yeast is still hard to come by, but no, you don’t need it to make delicious cinnamon rolls!

WEEK #4

Monday

Is a week even a week if one of the days doesn’t have some kind of pizza? Make my Microwave Mug Pizzas for adorably delicious single-serving pizzas for everyone in the family.

Tuesday

I have a lot of 3-Ingredient cookies, but the most popular recently has been my 3-Ingredient Shortbread Cookies recipe — so I want YOU to make them and see what all the fuss is about!

Wednesday

The microwave is my favorite kitchen tool, and I’m not too shy to admit that. You can pretty much make anything you want in it and fast. Make my Rocky Road Fudge right in your own microwave and see what I mean!

Thursday

Growing bodies need hearty food! Make my Homemade Granola for a delicious and smart way to start your day.

Friday

It’s Friday! Time for a treat. Make my Banana and Chocolate Sorbet as a cold, sweet pat on your back for getting through the week.

Saturday

Are you ready for the ultimate breakfast topped with everything good about eating in the morning? The cool thing is that you can even make this right in the toaster oven — give my Toaster Oven Breakfast Tart a go! And yes, you can use a normal oven, too.

Sunday

Make them now, eat them now, or save them for delicious breakfasts throughout the week — and find out exactly what makes my Best-Ever Blueberry Muffins the “best ever!”

I love the idea, but would appreciate the ingredient list and the recipes attached. In this time I know I won’t have all the ingredients on-hand. One page with this would make this more doable.

I simply ADORE this idea. By the way, I’d be considered as a kid, as I’m still 12 years old. Time to bake! I finally have an activity to engulf in when I’m bored at home. Thank you! I’ve been enjoying your website and videos a lot as they help me make quick, fun, and easy recipes to make and neew ideas that spark my creativity (and math skills. I love math).
Lots of love,
